Questions you may have about getting your child started in gymnastics and ninja.
-
What age can my child start? We have classes for walkers and up! If your child can walk, they are ready for intro classes in gymnastics and ninja both. Check out the Tiny Tots and Mini Ninja information. On the other side, if your child is older and you are questioning if they have missed the boat, NOPE, it is never too late! We have adults to start class having no previous training.
-
Do children need any experience before starting? Nope, we are here to be your child's first coaches and start to instill a lifetime of loving sports and fitness.
-
What should my child wear to class? Gymnastics classes require a leotard for girls and athletic clothing for boys. No zippers or buckles, please. Ninja kids can all wear athletic clothing.
-
Can I stay and watch? We do have viewing areas but we love to watch our students gain independence and learn to listen to their coaches. Parents are welcome to stay but we respectfully ask that you encourage your kids to stay on task and follow the directions of their coaches. Please do not yell into the gym or come out to assist unless requested by a coach.
-
What will my child learn in class? Basic gymnastics and ninja skills, coordination, balance, strength, listening skills and how to follow directions in a fun, safe setting. We are teaching school readiness in our preschool classes and building amazing young people through sport as they go through the older classes. Skill acquisition comes easily once the proper foundation is laid.
-
Is gymnastics safe for young children? Yes, when taught by trained coaches in an age-appropriate program with proper equipment and supervision.
-
How do I know if my child is ready? If your child likes to climb, jump, tumble or move around, gymnastics and ninja are often a great fit. Coaches can help place them in the right class.
-
What if my child is shy or nervous? That is extremely common and not a bother to us. Good coaches help children feel comfortable, build trust, and gain confidence at their own pace. Don't give up!!! Sometimes it takes weeks for a child to be ok leaving mom or dad to go into the gym but oh, the benefits you will see if you stick with it! Our tag line is this for a reason.... Arcadia Gymnastics, building confidence one kid at a time.
